Ardex X 7001 W (White) (General Purpose Floor Tile Adhesive) (20Kg)

Ardex X 7001 White is a Microtec fibre reinforced, rapid hardening and drying, flexible cement-based floor tile adhesive - designed for fixing all types of floor tile on all types of internal substrate. It is specifically formulated, however, to fix floor tiles over wood-based sheets and boards. The Microtec fibre technology prevents the tiles cracking over board joints if movement of the timber occurs and the RapidDry formula prevents the mix water from seeping in to the wooden substrate and warping the floorboards in the installation process.

Instructions for use

• Ensure the surface is clean, firm, free of dust, dirt, oil, grease and other barrier materials, as well as being strong enough to support the weight of the tiles being fixed and completely dry (check the drying times of different substrates)
  (Note. if using Ardex X 7001 White in wet rooms, bathrooms, showers or swimming pools, use Ardex WPC waterproof tanking system to first waterproof the substrate)
• Mix the product with clean cold water; 3.5 parts powder to 1 part water - until smooth, lump-free consistency achieved
  (Note. Max 4.5 litres of water per 20kg bag - DO NOT EXCEED the recommended maximum amount of water per bag)
• Using a notched trowel, apply the adhesive to the floor surface
  (The size of notched trowel chosen, depends on the tile size, the surface being tiled, the profile on the back of the tile and the degree of coverage required - check out our wide range of trowels)
• Comb to required bed thickness ensuring ribs all run in one direction
  (Note. if fixing tiles in wet environments, apply additional adhesive to the tile reverse)
• Fix the tiles before the adhesive forms a skin (typically 30 minutes at 20°C)
  (Note. if skin forms, remove adhesive and apply fresh layer)
• Press tile firmly into the ribs of the adhesive and into position, with slight twisting/sliding action to ensure optimum adhesive contact (can be adjusted for 15 minutes after initial positioning)
• Ensure you have left adequate joint spaces between tiles for grouting
• Clean off surplus adhesive from tile face and between tile joints

Recommendations

Ardex X 7001 White is not suitable for use with external vitrified porcelain or brickslips, in this case use Ardex X 7 Rapid.
