Ardex X77 White (20Kg)

Ardex X77 White is a microtec fibre reinforced, cement-based, floor and wall tile adhesive. It is specifically formulated to have enhanced properties of adhesion and flexibility, ideal for fixing all types of tile, including fully vitrified tiles, porcelain, mosaics and terrazzo, to wall and floor substrates. Ardex X77 has also been enhanced to give the exceptionally long open time of 60 minutes (double the open time of most adhesives classified as having extended open time). The superior slump resistant properties of Ardex X77 allow the fixing of heavy tiles to walls with minimum slip.

Instructions for use

• Ensure the surface is clean, firm, free of dust, dirt, oil, grease and other barrier materials, as well as being strong enough to support the weight of the tiles being fixed and completely dry (check the drying times of different substrates)
  (Note. if using Ardex X77 White in wet rooms, bathrooms, showers or swimming pools, use Ardex WPC waterproof tanking system to first waterproof the substrate)
• Mix the product with clean cold water; 2 parts powder to 1 part water - until smooth, lump-free consistency achieved
  (Note. Max 9 litres of water per 20kg bag - DO NOT EXCEED the recommended maximum amount of water per bag)
• Using a notched trowel, apply the adhesive to the wall or floor surface
  (The size of notched trowel chosen, depends on the tile size, the surface being tiled, the profile on the back of the tile and the degree of coverage required - check out our wide range of trowels)
• Comb to required bed thickness ensuring ribs all run in one direction
  (Note. if fixing tiles to walls or in wet environments, apply additional adhesive to the tile reverse)
• Fix the tiles before the adhesive forms a skin (typically 40 minutes at 20°C)
  (Note. if skin forms, remove adhesive and apply fresh layer)
• Press tile firmly into the ribs of the adhesive and into position, with slight twisting/sliding action to ensure optimum adhesive contact (can be adjusted for 30 minutes after initial positioning)
• Ensure you have left adequate joint spaces between tiles for grouting
• Clean off surplus adhesive from tile face and between tile joints

Recommendations

Ardex X77 White is not suitable for use with large format floor tiles, in this case use Ardex X 7001.
