BAL Single Part Flexible Grey (20Kg)

BAL Single Part Flexible is a highly flexible, polymer modified wall and floor tile adhesive. The adhesive is 100% waterproof and has excellent adhesive and non-slip properties; ideal for fixing large format wall tiles in wet rooms, bathrooms, showers and total immersion areas such as swimming pools. BAL Single Part Flexible also has enhanced adhesion to fully vitrified/porcelain tiles and low porosity substrates. Its high level of flexibility also lend it to installations subject to vibration, shrinkage or deflection from the substrate – ideal for use over underfloor heating systems.

Instructions for use

• Ensure surfaces to be tiled are flat, clean, dry, sound and free from contamination (in wet rooms, bathrooms, showers or swimming pools, use Ardex WPC waterproof tanking system to first waterproof the substrate)
• Mix the product with clean cold water; 3.5 parts powder to 1 part water
  (Mix until smooth, lump-free consistency achieved)
• Using a trowel, apply the adhesive to the wall or floor surface (max. 1m² at a time)
  (The size of notched trowel chosen, depends on the tile size, the surface being tiled, the profile on the back of the tile and the degree of coverage required - check out our wide range of trowels)
• Comb to required bed thickness (between 2-6mm) ensuring ribs all run in one direction
  (Note. if fixing large/heavily-patterned tiles, apply additional adhesive to tile reverse)
• Fix tiles before adhesive forms skin (typically 20 minutes at 20°C). If skin has formed, remove adhesive and apply fresh layer
• Press tile firmly into the ribs of the adhesive and into position, with slight twisting/sliding action to ensure optimum adhesive contact (tiles can be adjusted for 20 minutes after initial positioning)
• Ensure you have left adequate joint spaces between tiles for grouting
• Clean off surplus adhesive from tile face and between tile joints

Recommendations

BAL Single Part Flexible Grey is not suitable for use on natural stone susceptible to staining, these include limestone, travertine and some granite; in this case, use BAL Rapid Set White Adhesive.
