Orbry Waterproof Tile Backer Board

Orbry Tile Backer Boards ideal for waterproofing walls & floors, providing thermal insulation, dry lining and tile backing. When used in bathrooms you get a tile backer board, waterproofing, and insulation all in one! Orbry boards can also used as insulation boards and are the easiest solution for insulating and waterproofing a room in one quick & easy install.

Orbry Boards are insulated backer boards that are reinforced with glass fibre. The top coat on both sides of the Orbry Board is made of polymer-modified cement. Orbry boards provide a solid, waterproof layer to tile and are a cost effective way of insulating internal solid walls and creating a moisture barrier. They also create a fast track, insulated, low weight & height floor tiling system without screeds. Orbry boards absorb lateral movement and stop your tiles cracking over time.

We routinely see Orbry Boards used as waterproof backer boards, electric underfloor heating insulation and wet room construction.

Plastic Tile Backer Board Washers

The Orbry Tile Backer Board Washers are used to fix tile backer boards to stud walls and wooden floors. In order to properly fix the boards to the background substrate, use these washers with Orbry Stainless Steel Screws.

These plastic washers have been specially formulated to reduce pitting in the tile backer board surface when force is applied. They are also resistant to screw pull through for complete peace of mind, whilst the ultra low profile helps to prevent any lipping.

Note: 15 tile backer board washers & screws are required per tile backer board. They come in packs of 50 or 500.

Stainless Steel Tile Backer Board Screws

The Orbry Stainless Steel Screws are used to screw tile backer boards and cement boards to wooden and timber floors.

These screws are available in multiple sizes and quantities and are made from durable stainless steel. These stainless steel screws are sold in packets of 50 and 500, ranging sizes from 1 inch to 2.75 inches.

Marmox Self Adhesive Waterproofing Roll

The Marmox Self-Adhesive Waterproofing Tape is used to waterproof the joint between tile backer boards and wet room shower trays.

It creates a waterproof seal over these joins and is self-adhesive for easy application.

Marmox Self-Adhesive Waterproofing Tape comes on 10m rolls. Overlap joints and use waterproofing corners as appropriate.

Evo-Stik The Dogs Bllcks Adhesive & Sealant

The Evo-Stik The Dogs B*ll*cks Adhesive & Sealant sticks & seals virtually anything, anywhere!

Coming in handy 290ml cartridges, this crystal clear adhesive & sealant is suitable for use both indoors & out as it resists mould & UV rays.

It's solvent free, high strength, and can be used on most building materials, as well as an anti-mould sealant for kitchens and bathrooms.

How to install tile backer boards to a stud wall

Preparation: For a stud wall build with 600mm centres, use 20mm backer board or thicker. 10mm and 12.5mm thick boards require studs at 300mm centres. All board edges should be supported.

Fixing:Use a tile backer board screws and washers every 300mm on each stud. The washers prevent pitting in the board surface. When a stud is at 600mm centres, use 20 rows of 5 fixings. At 300mm centres, use 3 rows of 5 fixings.

Tiling: Be sure to tape all the joints with scrim tape, except in wet areas where the Marmox Self-Adhesive Waterproof tape should be used. The boards are now ready to be tiled.

Plastering: Seal boards together using a bead of Evo-Stik prior to scrim-taping, do not use Waterproof tape under plaster. The boards are now ready to be plastered.

Long Length Items like tile trims will incur a £9.99 delivery surcharge in line with our couriers. This surcharge is automatically added onto your order at the checkout stage.

Special 1 - 2 Day Shipping occurs when an item is sent to you direct from the manufacturer, usually on a next day service. This usually incurs a flat rate shipping charge of £15.99.

Click and Collect

We offer a free Click and Collect service on all stocked items at our main warehouse. Click and Collect orders are available for collection from 08:30am to 16:00pm Monday to Friday. Please allow 2 hours from your order to when you come and collect. Please wait for and bring your order confirmation paperwork with you. Delivery Damages

It's important that you indicate the damages on the delivery note when you sign for the goods. Notify Tile Fix Direct by emailing us or calling our advice line on 0333 320 04 24 if there are any damages or irregularities to your order within 24 hours of delivery.
